We offer you tried and true recipe for cookies, gingerbread houses, dough, and icing. We provide shortcuts and tricks to make your event easier and more fun. In our gingerbread construction time, family and friends socialize and talk in ways that seem to be getting rarer these days. Best of all, we hope to inspire a tradition that will bring many happy memories and as much laughter in your house as it has in ours. In our simple guide, we throw in a bit of history and references, to get the imagination in gear. Our guide is more than recipes and baking tips. Our objective is to make GINGERBREAD TIME an important family and friends holiday.. Its a time when we can all come together.Time is precious, so we divided up tasks by things that can be done in advance and things that are a day of activity. We learned that when creating, all of us are children. It’s best to have a children’s time and an adult children’s time! Adult time has turned into an evening buffet event with serious gingerbread competition and wonderful socializing. A separate afternoon childrens session allows for more creativity and fun kids time! The goal of child centered activities and adult activities are different and roll (no pun intended) at a different pace.In early years, we only fashioned projects to meet needs of parents and children. Children’s Afternoon today is 2-3 hours of gingerbread house building, cookie making, games, food, and fun. Adults help guide children in building what their fertile imagination allows (if possible!!). As our children became older, we added Adult Night. Adults now compete for the best or worst gingerbread construction. Adults vote for the awards and ribbons are given out. The competitive aspect has taken on a life of its own. During bake and build time, we enjoy a buffet and socialize.Life is shorter than we all think it is. Time passes quickly as the years roll by. Sitting around the table building gingerbread houses, talking, competing, and eating is something that won’t come this way again. This is what GINGERBREAD TIME is all about. Take pictures! Laugh! Remember! This year, friends and family are coming home from all around the US and the World. They all ask when GINGERBREAD TIME is! This is our invitation to YOU to use our guide book it to make your OWN tradition.
